poem i wrote today at work

being meager and hollow
is torture
if I could I would
turn you around
let you shift
and tremble instead of see inside
your lack of will
your doubt
ambivalence
i’d make the day soft and malleable
for worn fingers to
mold and hold before slipping through
saying goodbye
you warned me and I failed to heed
in that time and place
you knew me and I continued to
hide my face
