all we have is this moment

i took this picture on the beach in cabo san lucas, i can't remember ever feeling more relaxed on vacation before.

yesterday i had another falling out with my boss. i have tried just about all i can think of to tolerate her, thinking of her as a human being first, as a mother, but then she will do something to piss me off and make me hate my job again and it takes me a long long time to just let it go. and then i start dreading going to work, and that is the worst thing of all. so instead of giving into my creeping sense of doom and gloom, i'm going to try one last ditch effort to get through to my boss and therefore get through my work days with less stress. let's just say it involves writing and prayer, and leave it at that. i hope it works because i like the company i work for and i feel comfortable there and would try to avoid having to start over in a whole new place.

i will not let myself get bogged down in negativity, because i have too many good things in my life to be happy about and grateful for, and those are the things that really matter at the end of the day. i'm grateful for my loving family, the freedom to listen to uplifting music, the ability to read a good book, and my boyfriend who makes me smile and laugh, and who takes me out and allows me to have a great time and be myself. that's an amazing blessing seeing as i never thought i would ever find love or anyone who would possibly understand me.

here's a good quote from the book i'm currently reading, which i picked up for free at a free market that took place a few months ago in the city. it's called "Messengers of Light. The Angel's Guide to Spiritual Growth." this quote really resonated with my idea of what happiness is.

"To be happy means being in a state of fascination with life, where situations are simply interesting, not necessarily good or bad"
